Ten unsafe buildings demolished in noida
Noida Authority on Friday demolished as many as 10 unauthorised buildings in Garhi Chaukhandi and served ‘unsafe’ notice on a five-storey building in the neighbourhood, hours after an under-construction structure collapsed in the area.
Meanwhile, a co-developer of the twin buildings that collapsed in Greater Noida’s Shahberi earlier this month surrendered in a court in the morning, while police in neighbouring Ghaziabad managed to nab two persons in connection with the July 22 building cave-in.
Rajesh Kumar Singh, OSD to Noida Authority, told TOI, “We received information that an under-construction building collapsed in Garhi Chaukhandi village in the morning. A team from the Authority went to the area and found that the building had collapsed due to its inherent weakness and poor construction materials. The developer also did not get the project’s layout approved by the Authority. We have filed a police complaint against the developer, Titu Yadav.”
